Betty Jane Homan, 92, formerly of Virginia Ave., passed away Saturday morning, June 29, 2013 at St. Francis Home.

On September 15, 1920 in Tiffin, she was born to Frank and Grace (McCormick) Crist. She married Merle R. Homan on March 1, 1945 in the St. Joseph Parsonage.

Survivors include her daughter, Malinda (Frank) Perna of Tiffin; daughter in law, Judy Homan of Tiffin; two grandsons, Anthony Perna and Christopher (Kelly) Homan; 3 great grandchildren, Kennedi, Tenley, and Hunter Michael James Homan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Merle on October 21, 2004 and most recently her son Mike on February 15, 2013. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Ed, Bud, and Bob Crist and a sister, Mary Lou Zay.

Betty was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1938 graduate of Tiffin Calvert. She was an operator at Ohio Bell, clerk at LaSalle's Department Store for many years and a member of the Tiffin Elks. She enjoyed reading, bowling and golfing.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 11:30 AM at St. Francis Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Murd officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Tuesday at St. Francis Home from 10:30 AM until the time of mass.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Home or Stein Hospice.
