Obituary

Betty L. Recker, 82, of New Riegel, passed away on Sunday afternoon, November 6, 2016 at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria.

She was born on March 18, 1934, in Putnam County, to Rudolph and Alberta (Dulle) Lammers. On November 26, 1953, she married Robert L. "Bob" Recker and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2012.

Survivors include four sons, David (Barbara) Recker of Tiffin, Roy (Kim) Recker and Rick (Amy) Recker, both of New Riegel and Ken (Shelly) Recker of Port Clinton; four daughters, Elaine (Tom) Perry of Tiffin, Carol (Dean) Crow of Chambersburg, PA, Teresa (Brad) Lonsway of Port Clinton and Mary Jo (Bob) Welter of McCutchenville; three brothers, Paul (Barbara) Lammers of Chelsea, MI, William (Mary) Lammers of Defiance and Nicholas (Jane) Lammers of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Marilyn (Karl) Inkrott of Leipsic, Dorothy (Elmer) Meyer of Ottawa and Sr. Joanne Lammers of Tiffin; 25 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Gregory P. Recker in 2005; daughter, Barbara Lynn Recker in 1978; brother, Robert Lammers; sister, Ruth Alt; and grandson, Matthew Recker.

Betty graduated in 1952 from Miller City High School and moved to New Riegel in 1964 from Putnam County. She worked at Mercy Hospital of Tiffin in the dietary department for ten years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Rosary Altar Society. Betty enjoyed her flower garden, music and singing.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 2-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin after visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
