Billy W. Walker, 66, of Bloomville, passed away Wednesday morning, December 10, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on February 15, 1948, in West Virginia, to Earl and Helen (Vance) Walker. On February 5, 1972, he married Deborah K. Young.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah, of Bloomville; brother, John (Connie) Walker of Bucyrus; and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Jean Walker-Baker.
Billy moved to the Bucyrus area in 1964 from West Virginia. He graduated in 1967 from Bucyrus High School and served in the United States Army, stationed in Italy, and was honorably discharged in 1969. He was a Postal Carrier in Bucyrus for 33 years and also worked at Walmart in Bucyrus for 7 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and enjoyed reading the Bible. Billy also enjoyed helping his wife farm and he enjoyed science fiction movies.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ with Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. The United Veterans Council will be conducting services immediately following at the church. Burial will follow in Benton Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to F.A.C.T. or to First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
