Obituary

Bonnie Diane Fors, 74, of Tiffin, died February 15, 2015, at Elmwood at the Shawhan, from lung cancer. She was born on June 30, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Joseph M. and Margaret (Miller)
Fors, who predeceased her. She is survived by cousins, friends, caregivers, and many Heidelberg alumni whom she taught.

After graduation from Wauconda Township High School in Wauconda, IL, she earned a B.A. degree from Lake Forest College in Illinois and both M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in history from Loyola University of Chicago.

Dr. Fors taught world history at Loyola of Chicago, Western Illinois University, and Mount St. Mary's College, California, before joining the faculty at Heidelberg College in 1983, where she taught history, chairing the department for many years, until she retired in 2010. Her favorite courses were Classical World, Maya World, and History of England. She also enjoyed international travel, classical music, especially opera, reading mysteries, and her beloved pets.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 6, at St. Margaret Mary's Church, 2324 West Chase Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60654. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Herbster Chapel, Pfleiderer Center, Heidelberg University, Tiffin, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heidelberg University, the Humane Society of Seneca County, Community Hospice Care or a charity of the donor's choice
