C. Robert "Bob" Walter, 95, of Bascom, passed away Monday morning, November 12, 2012 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria.

On September 4, 1917 in Seneca County, he was born to George and Alma (Hartsel) Walter. He married Gladys Mae Lusk on July 25, 1939 in Fremont.

Survivors include his children, Robert C. (Sandra) Walter of Bronson, MI; Dennis L. (Jane) Walter of Apache Junction, AZ; a daughter, Judith (George) Hossler of Fostoria, OH; a sister, Evelyn Weller of Tiffin, OH; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Gladys in 1999, 3 brothers, Donald Walter, Orville Walter, Kenneth Walter and a sister, Lucille Bowersox.

Robert was a member of Union United Church of Christ in Bascom and was a mechanic at Good Year Tire in Tiffin and then at Gable Oil for over 15 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Tiffin Eagles Aerie 402 and VFW Post 2947 in Fremont.

His funeral service will be Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424, with Chaplain Tress Hodkinson officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Cemetery.

Friends may visit on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
