Carl W. Kern, 87, of Tiffin, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Good Shepherd Home.
He was born on October 24, 1936, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Anthony and Noreen (Lucius) Kern. On October 15, 1960, he married Patricia A. Miletti and she preceded him in death on December 01, 2017.
Survivors include his son, David (Kimberly) Kern of Tiffin; daughter, Michele (Eric) Magers of McCutchenville; three grandchildren, Jessica Garza, Hailey Magers and Cameron Magers; and 4 great grandchildren, Eliot, Roman, Ashton and Luna.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers; Alvin, Luke and Francis Kern, sisters; Rita Kern and Mary Catherine Fox, and a grandson, Danny Garza.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a 1955 graduate of New Riegel High School. Carl served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He worked as a caster for American Standard for over 40 years and President of the American Standard Credit Union before retiring. While working at American Standard, Carl sold real estate for Hennessy Real Estate and later Walton Realty. After retirement he continued to stay busy, delivering cars for Tiffin Ford around the country for over 20 years.
Carl enjoyed golfing, driving, and traveling along with his wife, Patricia to Las Vegas, Branson, Atlantic City, Florida, and Canada. He was a member and volunteer at the Knights of Columbus and donated to the American Red Cross for over 25 years.
His Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 01, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors by The United Veterans Council.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or Good Shepherd Home.
