Carolyn Hoover, 86, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026.
She was born on January 27, 1940, with her twin brother, Buckie, to the late Thomas and Helen (Baumgardner) Burns. On March 29, 1957, she married Gene Hoover and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Peg (Michael) Fox of Bloomville; sons, Joe (Karen) Hoover of Tiffin and Jeff (Sarah) Hoover of Tiffin; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Trisha) Fox, Bill (Melissa) Fox, Brent Fox, Paul (Kendy) Fortney, Alisha (Daniel) Kessler and Aric (Sarah) Hoover; 11 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, oldest son, Genie Hoover; grandson, Justin Hoover; great granddaughter, Louisa Fox; brothers, Paul Burns, Tom Burns, Gene Burns, Alan Burns, Buckie Burns and Dick Burns.
Carolyn was always laughing with a smile on her face. She loved all her kids and grandkids. She was famous for her baking and homemade cinnamon rolls and cutout cookies and known for her kindness. She would help anyone! Carolyn loved to bowl, bake, go to Bingo and the casinos, playing penny poker with her brothers and friends and she loved traveling with her husband, Gene.
Carolyn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, VFW Post 2858 and the Tiffin Eagles #402. Carolyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Friends may visit with the family from 8:30-9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 07, 2026 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 07, 2026 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Rader officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens. A luncheon will follow at the V.F.W., Tiffin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice who helped take great care of her.
