Obituary

Charlene Mary Steyer, 81, of rural New Riegel died on Mother's Day Sunday May 12, 2013 at St. Vincent Medical Center Toledo.

She was born on All Saints Day November 1, 1931 in rural Upper Sandusky to the late Carl and Helen (Orians) Rall. She married Donald G. Steyer on August 11, 1956 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky and he still survives.

Survivors also include 3 daughters, Marjorie (Jim) Steinmetz Jr. and Julie (Curtis) Heidler both of Tiffin, Jane (Jason) Trausch of Carey; 4 Sons, John (Lisa) Steyer , Ed, and David Steyer all of New Riegel, Dennis (Regina) Steyer of Sycamore; 14 grandchildren, Sarah (Adam) Kleinfelter, Anthony and Stephen Steinmetz, Christina (Troy) Breidenbach, Lee (Kelly) Cleland, Nicole Goshe, Becka and Allysa Heidler, Katie, Megan, Jackie, and Logan Trausch, Kaci and Lukas Steyer; 9 great grandchildren, Brenten and Bradley Kleinfelter, Bailey and Brook Breidenbach, Kennedy and Briella Cleland, Gracie, Reese and Marlie Goshe; 3 step grandchildren, Nathan (Shannon) Beaston, Shay Miller, Ali Stauffer; 4 step great grandchildren, Kain, Jaylin, Kelan and Trasyn Beaston; sister, Rita (Bill) Bricely of Arizona; in-laws', Pearl Nye, Leon (Janice) Steyer and Norman (Pat) Steyer; many cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, oldest daughter, Catherine who died at the age of 14 in 1972 of juvenile diabetes; brother Bernard Rall; sister Janet (Lawrence) Logsdon.

Charlene lived a long good life and was a member of New Riegel All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Rosary Altar Society, and the New Riegel Right to Life past president and member. She worked briefly before she got married as a telephone operator in Upper Sandusky and babysat. She loved God and enjoyed being with her family, reminiscing old times, taking pictures of nature and her family with her digital camera, cooking, gardening, bird watching and played piano wonderfully by ear.

A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 4-8:00 P.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 3:30 P.M.
