Obituary

Charles F. Schrenk, Sr., 95, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, July 31, 2015 at Friedman Village.

He was born on June 3, 1920, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Carl and Lucille (Koenig) Schrenk. On October 18, 1941, he married Levon E. "Tootie" Shriver.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kathleen "Kay" Sevenich of Delta and Loretta "Jean" Corfman of Tiffin; two sons, Charles "Butch" (Joyce) Schrenk, Jr. and Robert "Bob" Schrenk, both of Tiffin; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Levon; half-brother, Carl Schrenk; and half sister, Annie Metford.

After high school, Charles had an opportunity to play for the Detroit Tigers as a third baseman, but decided to start his family. Charles was a night foreman at National Machinery for over 40 years and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary where he was past commander for many years and was past commander/founder of the West Harbor Yacht Club. Charles enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling, boating, vacationing in Florida, traveling, spending summers at the lake and taking many trips to the great lakes.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 6-8:00 P.M. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the funeral home and on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. The National Machinery Quarter Century Club will meet in body at 7:00 P.M. on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or F.A.C.T.
