Obituary

Charles R. Wahrer, 90, of Tiffin, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning, March 16, 2016 at St. Francis Nursing Home.

He was born on September 19, 1926, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Oho John and Eunice (Sanders) Wahrer. In 1952, he married Beatrice A. Weinandy and she preceded him in death on June 22, 2008.

Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Frederick of Fostoria; four sons, Robert Wahrer, Charles Edward (Linda) Wahrer and Wayne Wahrer all of Tiffin and John (Jeanne) Wahrer of New Riegel; sister, Kathryn of Long Beach, CA; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul Wahrer and an infant brother.

Charles served in the United States Navy during World War II from June 3, 1943 to March 16, 1946. He retired after 20 years from Davis-Besse, was a life member of Tiffin AmVets Post #48 and a past member of the Disabled American Veterans. Charles enjoyed gambling and taking care of his family.

There will be a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Kishore Kottana officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow
in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United Veterans Council.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
