Cora Jane Stotler, 74, of Tiffin, formerly of Alvada, died Saturday evening, October 3 2009, at Volunteers of America, Autumnwood Care Center.
She was born August 5, 1935, in Bowling Green, to Carl E. and Florence (Mane) Chalfin. In May 1955, she married Harold Bowers, and they later divorced. She married Ernest Stotler in July 1969.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Ernest, a son, Ken (Linda) Bowers of Tiffin, three step-daughters, Ernestine (Duane) Oren of Deshler, Linda (Bill) Salyers of New Riegel, and Diana (Marvin) Hoepf of New Riegel, 5 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her first husband, Harold, are four brothers, Charles 'Chuck', Gerald 'Bus', Harold 'Bud' and Carl E. 'Ed' Jr. Chalfin and three sisters, Doris Uhlbeck, Lila Frisch and Margaret Risner.
Cora was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and a cook at Autolite in Fostoria for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:15 AM, Tuesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to Calvert Catholic Schools Vision 2010 or a charity of the donor's choice.
