Cozetta I. Richardson, 100, was born in McCutchenville February 13, 1907 the daughter of William H. and Mary G. Sprau. She later moved to Tiffin and in 1928 married Norwood H. Richardson. He preceded her in death April 1964. She was a devoted wife and mother, and will be remembered for her soft, gentle way, but strong will and determination. She lived with dignity, grace and independence in her home until after she was 100 years old, never giving up on life, or on life's challenges and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Cozetta's devout faith brought her comfort throughout life. In 1907 she was one of the first members baptized in the former Trinity Reformed Church in McCutchenville, and in 2007 was able to participate in their 100th Anniversary celebration. After moving to Tiffin, she became a life long member of the First Lutheran Church and was very active in her church throughout the years.
February 2007, she celebrated her 100th birthday with family coming from many areas of the country. She is survived by her son, Gary L. Richardson, Escondido, California and her daughter, Sue Ann Whaley, Issaquah Washington, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her brother, Virgil Sprau of McCutchenville.
Services will be held at 12:00 - Noon, Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Richard Hofmann officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in McCutchenville.
Friends may visit with the family 10-12:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SCAT, Heartland Hospice, or to the paramedics of the Tiffin Fire Department for their assistance with Cozetta.
