Dale E. Hoepf, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 29, 2014 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay.
He was born on May 24, 1935, in Seneca Township, to Leo and Eulalia (Wenzinger) Hoepf. On April 14, 1956, he married JoAnn Wagner in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Alvada.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; 4 sons, Paul (Jil) Hoepf of Carey, Greg (Sue) Hoepf of Cincinnati, Kevin (Cindy) Hoepf of Alvada and Scott (Sandra) Hoepf of Findlay; 4 daughters, Karen (Larry) Wilkinson of Findlay, Sharon Hoepf of Findlay, Bonnie (Martin) Miller of Zionsville, IN and Janice (Jim) Naderer of West Liberty; 4 brothers, Walter (Mary) Hoepf of Republic, Arthur (Sally) Hoepf of Mt. Gilead, Michael (Diane) Hoepf of Bucyrus and Cletus (Patrcia) Hoepf of Bucyrus; 5 sisters, Ruth Fox of Bloomville, Mary Ellen (Cyril) Gosche of New Riegel, Arlene Holman of Fostoria and Dorothy (Jack) Clutter and Patricia (Tony) Springman, both of Bucyrus; sister-in-law, Ruth Hoepf, of Tiffin; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, David Canterbury in 2013; and 2 brothers, Robert Hoepf and Gerald Hoepf.
Dale was born and raised farming, was a farm drainage contractor for 20 years and then continued to farm. He raised hogs and livestock. After he retired, his farm was reduced to a garden. Dale was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, enjoyed fishing, traveling, bus tours and playing euchre.
His Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will be at a later date at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, New Riegel.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 1:30.
