Obituary

Dr. Dale Joseph Kieffer, 79, of Tiffin, passed away on Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

He was born on April 12, 1936, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Arnold and Rose (Petty) Kieffer. On February 8, 1958, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, he married Joan Bentz and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2015.

Survivors include his five daughters, Stephanie (Jonathan) Stotzer of Tiffin, Deb (Kris) Kurtz of Tiffin, Linda (Mark) Earle of Montpelier, Kay Kieffer of Tiffin and Karen (Andy) Frank of Tiffin; sister, Ruth (Carl) Cassidy of Fostoria; 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Phil) Ross, Zach (Jessica) Kurtz, Nathaniel Kurtz, Maureen Kurtz, Jessica and Jacob Earle, Austin Zoeller, Chloe and Sophie Mack and Caleb Frank; and one great grandson, Wesley Ross.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marion Kieffer and Joy Kieffer; and four sisters, Esther Holman, Emma Kin, Wilma Kieffer and Violet Kieffer.

Dale graduated from St. Wendelin High School, Bowling Green State University and Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa. Dale provided chiropractic care in Tiffin for thirty years beginning in 1960. In 1968, he built his pride and joy, his office location at 366 S. Washington St. and continued there until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ohio Chiropractic Association, the local Brown Bagger Professionals Association and Fostoria Sportsmen Den. He was an accomplished and well-known trap shooter, winning many events and trophies over the years. His sense of humor, quick wit and his occasional unfiltered opinion will be missed by all.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, September 7, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 8:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care or to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
