Obituary

Daniel E. Coffman, 73, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 3, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

On December 17, 1940 in Tiffin, he was born to Karl D. "Mike" and B. Helen (Williams) Coffman. He married Linda Hutcheson on January 26, 1962.

Survivors include his wife Linda of 52 years; two sons, Daniel (Kelly) Coffman of Mansfield; Steve (Renee') Coffman of Springfield, OH; two daughters, Erin (Mark) Horne of Maumee; Kate (Ed) Chapman of New York City, NY; three brothers, Wayne Coffman, Paul (Nancy) Coffman, and Harold (Sherry) Coffman all of Tiffin; 15 grandchildren and his dog Ditto.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dan was a member and an adult Sunday School teacher at Grace Baptist Church for many years. He graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School and from Northrop Aeronautical Institute of Technology in Inglewood, CA and worked for National Machinery as a buyer for over 27 years retiring in September of 2002. A talented "hands on guy" who enjoyed working around the house, on family cars and with his brother on antique cars; Dan thoroughly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the National Machinery Quarter Century Club, A Master Gardner volunteer, and attended the Tuesday Lunch Bunch at Cool Creations. He enjoyed old western movies, U.S. History and his passion for Biblical History and love of his Savior, Jesus Christ, inspired him to author a book, "The Life of Christ".

His funeral service will be Friday, August 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Baptist Church, 161 N. St. Rt. 101, Tiffin, OH; with Rev. Jerry Boylan officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacob's Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 5-8:00 P.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., 419-447-2424. The National Machinery Quarter Century Club will meet in body at 7:00 P.M.
