Obituary

Daniel A. 'Dan' Margraf, 89, of Tiffin, died Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2008, at St. Francis Home.

On September 21, 1919, he was born in Sycamore, to Jacob A. and Myrl (Covert) Margraf. On August 4, 1945 he married Rosemary Autullo in St. Mary Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on January 2, 1965. September 10, 1966, he married Jacqueline 'Jackie' Brooker.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie, four sons, Mike (Peg) Margraf, Joe (Cathy) Margraf, both of Tiffin, Steve (Connie) Margraf of New Riegel and Roger (Ruth) Smith of Fostoria, a sister, Marilyn (Glenn) Stevens of Sycamore, 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife, Rosemary, is an infant daughter, Ruth Margraf, three brothers, Allen, Clair and Warren Margraf, three sisters, Vera Gregg, Naomi Staib and Betty Rohrbach.

Dan was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and proudly served in the US Army during WWII from 1941-1944. He worked 35 years at National Machinery retiring in 1980. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, playing the fiddle, mandolin, bass, harmonica and could also sing. Dan and Jackie volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and were members of the T-Squares for over 20 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at St. Francis Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Military Graveside services conducted by the United Veteran's Council.

Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Friday, October 17, 2008 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424.
