With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Edward Bianchi, age 74, who departed this life peacefully on April 21, 2025, in the presence of his loved ones.

Born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on May 31, 1950, to Jack J. and Hazel K. (Sayers) Bianchi, both of whom preceded him in death. David was a man of quiet strength with a generous heart. A devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, he leaves behind a legacy built on love, laughter, selflessness and an endless supply of stories.

David had a love for the outdoors and fishing, but his true passion was the love he had for his children and grandchildren. Though always in the background, David relentlessly supported his grandchildren. If his grandkids were selling it, he was buying it. During Friday Night Lights, Dad could be found with a "backup candy bar" tucked into his front shirt pocket. No matter the event or occasion, Grandpa Bianchi aka "Grandpa Cuts the Wood" would show up - often with extra cash for everyone to enjoy the concession stand. Following his grandkid's events Dad found great joy in treating his crew to a fun, family dinner of Angelo's Pizza. He loved his family immensely.

In his younger years David would spend countless hours with his sons and son-in-law making memories and sharing laughs as they cut wood for the upcoming season. David prided himself on providing each of his sons with new Husqvarna chainsaws to ensure they had the best tools possible to get the job done. While in the woods, Dad would hunt for the evasive morel and in the warmer months blackberries were a favorite find. There was no end to the countless stories shared and the memories made under the canopy of the Elm and Ash trees.

David worked for many years as a meat processor for Farmland Food (Riegel Foods) and prior to that, Fletchner Meats in Fostoria, Ohio. David attended Kirby schools and was confirmed at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Kirby, Ohio.

He is survived by his children, Hollie (Jason Borer), David (Kathy) Bianchi,and Jesse (April) Bianchi; seven grandchildren, Noah (Kaitlyn) Borer, Hannah Borer, Grace Bianchi, Nellie Bianchi, Nehemiah Bianchi, Lincoln Bianchi and Lizah Bianchi; former wife, Cynthia (Raymond) Heising; and five siblings, Robert Bianchi of Upper Sandusky, Irene Allen of Tiffin, Mary (Danny) Chester of Pataskala, James (Betty) Bianchi of Upper Sandusky and Aleta (Dwayne) Lykins of Tiffin.

David was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Bianchi; and two sisters, Janice Hoy and Dorothy Kessler.

He will be remembered not only for the stories he told, but for the love he gave so freely.

His Funeral Service will be at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, May 05, 2025 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Pastor AJ Lewis officiating.

Friends may visit with his family from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Service on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to Harrison-Smith Park, in care of Upper Sandusky Parks Department.
