David D. Turner, 58, of Tiffin, Ohio, died unexpectedly Monday, June 13, 2011 at his residence.

He was born June 27, 1952 in Tiffin, Ohio to Donald "Duck" F. & Marjorie (Benner) Turner.

Survivors include his brothers; Pete (Teresa) Turner of Woodbridge, VA and Joe (Gin) Turner of Tiffin; one sister; Fran (Pete) Kleinhenz of Tiffin; Step-Mother; Marlene Turner of Tiffin and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

David was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 1970 graduate of Tiffin Calvert and attended Heidelberg College. David was a cook in the U.S. Army and loved his country. He served in the U.S. Army from November 30, 1971 to September 10, 1979. He worked at American Standard, retiring in 2008 after almost 30 years. David also helped with MRDD at area housing and was a cook at Clover Club for the past few years. He volunteered for Community Hospice Care for many years and also at the Salvation Army in Fostoria and Tiffin. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold-em, golfing and loved reading and watching anything about sports. David was a very caring and generous man; donating to many organizations to help others. He was also an animal lover of dogs and cats.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on June 27, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. where military rites will be conducted by the United Veterans Council.

A dinner and celebration of life for Don "Duck" Turner and his son Dave will be in the Blue room at Tiffin Moose on June 27, 2011 from 4-7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, The Seneca County Humane Society or United Way of Seneca County.
