Dawn R. Kurtz, 50, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 7, 2022 in the Emergency Room at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital.

She was born on February 17, 1972, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Arvil and Sharon A. (Hausenfleck) Howard.  On November 30, 1991, she married Vincent Kurtz.

Survivors include her husband, Vincent Kurtz of Tiffin; son, Vincent (Shawna) Kurtz of Tiffin; brothers, Tony (Wendy) Howard of North Carolina and Eddy Howard of Bloomville; step brother, John Todd; step sisters, Regina Todd and Toni Todd; five grandchildren, Easton, Sofia, Ava, Cason and Kyrie; and her mother, Sharon (Joseph) Todd.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arvil Howard; sister, Tammy (and her husband, Greg) Kinn; and step sister, Terri Chapman.

Dawn worked at Elmwood Assisted Living in Tiffin for the past 15 years and loved being able to help all the residents.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, enjoyed cooking, shopping at Goodwill, trips on the Harley with her husband and loved her dogs. Christmas was Dawn's favorite time of the year.  She loved all the baking, decorating and enjoying the happiness that she could bring to others.  She enjoyed making people feel good.  Dawn's greatest joy was being a wife, mom and maw maw.  She adored children and her "maw maw" skills were top notch and the same could be said about her mom skills. Her love extended to her nieces and nephews as well.

Her funeral service will be at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. Burial will be private in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the Service on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Tiffin Salvation Army or to a local food kitchen.
