Beloved mother and grandmother, Dolores K. Nitecki, 91, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 25, 2012 at St. Francis Home.
She was born on September 16, 1921, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Joseph and Clara (Weisenberger) Kuhn.
Survivors include; two daughters, Jeanne Brock, her devoted caregiver, of Tiffin, Susan (John Estenik) Nitecki of Worthington; and two sons, Bruce Nitecki of Toledo and Joe (Roberta) Nitecki, Jr. of Tiffin; three sisters, Jeanne (Bob) Troxell of Fremont, Sr. Mary Evelyn of Toledo and Patti (Lou) Rodgers of Florida; 11 grandchildren: Danny, Elizabeth, Nick, Nathan, Timothy, Jr., Christina, Alex, Andrew, Amy, Todd, and Bryan; and many great grandchildren. Her presence in our lives is a gift for which we will always be grateful.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Maurice Kuhn; two sisters, Eileen Gordon and Mary Draheim; and son, Timothy Nitecki, Sr.
Dolores graduated in 1939 from Tiffin Calvert High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a member of the Greatest Generation and experienced the deprivation of the Great Depression as a child, and the effects of World War II as the wife of deployed soldier, Joseph J. Nitecki, Sr, and as the mother of young sons. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, and family was central to her life. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She also loved sending greeting cards and giving gifts, and delighted in receiving flowers and small knick knacks from her family.
Her funeral Mass will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. The Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. There will be no burial at this time.
