Dominic Joseph Hays, 21, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 and has gone to be with the Lord.

He was born on February 23, 1992, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Myron Andy Hays and Jean Granata Hays.

He is survived by his parents, Myron Andy Hays and Jean Granata (Jerry Esparza) Hays; maternal grandmother, Marjorie Granata and paternal grandmother, Helen Gibson. He is the nephew of Tim (Ulrike) Granata, Julie (Daryl) Shellhouse, Jennifer (Rodney) Althaus, Roxanne (Dave) Fitch, Russell (Pam) Hays, Lori (Harold) Frost, Roger (Michelle) Hays and Jamie (Greg) Huffman. Also, he is survived by many cousins with whom he shared close relationships.

Preceding him in death was his maternal grandfather, Gordon Granata.

Dominic graduated in 2010 from Tiffin Columbian High School and attended The Ohio State University Mansfield and Columbus State College and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He was blessed with many great friends, enjoyed sharing time with his family and friends and playing football and basketball. Dominic was an organ and tissue donor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. There will be no burial at this time.

Friends may visit and share stories with the family from 1-7:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 12:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice Care, The Victim/Witness Assistance Program or a charity of the donor's choice.
