Donald R. Davis, 89, of Tiffin, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

He was born on May 8, 1926, in Buffalo, NY, to John James and Flora Rose (Robitaille) Davis. On September 5, 1947, he married Barbara June Lines and she preceded him in death on December 6, 2014.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Daryl) Close of Sycamore, Karen Davis of Bellingham, Massachusetts and Susan (Thomas) Williams of Whiting, NJ; brother, Leo L. Davis of Bokeelia, Florida; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert R.; and sister, June E.

Donald graduated from Technical High School, Buffalo, NY, attended New York State College for Teachers also in Buffalo, NY. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the Armored Infantry from 1944-1946. He worked for Nabisco for 41 years. His last position was plant manager in Wisconsin, retiring in 1990. After retiring, Donald and his wife moved to Tiffin to be close to family. He was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge #810 in Tinley Park, IL, the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association and the Ohio Historic Bridge Association. Donald enjoyed genealogy, covered bridges, lighthouses, sculpting and painting with watercolors.

There will be no visitation or services at this time.
