IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald R.
Hefner
March 16, 1937 – September 20, 2013
Did anyone hear the loud boom today? It was God and St. Peter opening the gates of Heaven for Donald R. Hefner's arrival. Donald passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born March 16, 1937 to John and Zelma (McComb) Hefner in Lima, Ohio. They are deceased. He married Twyla M Fishbaugh on August 23, 1958 and she preceded him in death on March 11, 2012.
He is survived by a daughter, Holly (Dave) Duncan of Findlay; 2 sons, Todd (Donna) Hefner and Greg (Dawn) Hefner, both of Tiffin; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Duncan and Kaitlin Duncan both of Findlay, Brittany (Todd) Kramer of Cincinnati, Zachary Hefner of Cincinnati, Courtney Hefner of Walbridge, Elizabeth (Jakob) Boehler of Tiffin, Emillee Hefner of Findlay and Abigail Hefner of Tiffin; 3 sisters Esther (Bob) Willike and Ruth Hardin, both of Florida, Mary Fetter of Lima; 2 brothers, his twin brother Ronald (Darlene) Hefner, and John Paul (Carroll) Hefner both of Lima.
Preceding him in death were his wife; parents; 4 brothers, Gene, Walter, Glenn and Gordon; a sister Sharon; and his faithful dog Maggie Mae.
He retired from Ameriwood Industries in 2006. Donald was a Cub Scout master for many years at Clinton School. He was a vice president and president of the Clinton PTA and also coached various leagues for Tiffin City baseball. He enjoyed farming and gardening and did electrical wiring for the Allen County Fair for 25 years. He loved working crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He always said, "A father who has a daughter and sons has the worlds richest treasure." And "the most precious gift a father could receive is the love of his children" and he was dearly loved. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A private service for the immediate family only will be held at Seneca Memorial Gardens where he will be laid to rest in the mausoleum, with Pastor King of New Beginnings Church officiating.
