Donald L. Kurtz, 83, of Tiffin, and formerly of New Riegel, died Sunday morning, August 21, 2016 at home after a long battle with cancer.

On May 9, 1933, Don was born to Linus and Nellie (Hammer) Kurtz.
Linus later married Mary (Wise) Kurtz. Don first married Sue Stefanelli and they divorced. He later married Marcella Kate Parks on February 14, 1992 in Albion, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella of Tiffin; children, Stephanie (Rick) Rooney of Delta, Terri Shrode of Urbana, Vince (Dawn) Kurtz of Tiffin, Karl (Michelle) Kurtz of Tiffin and Nikki (Jason) Fry of Tiffin; stepchildren Wade Perkins of Everett, Washington and Travis J. Perkins of Tiffin; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; and 1 step great grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Linus and Nellie Kurtz; stepmother, Mary Kurtz; brother, Earl T. Kurtz; and son-in-law, Wayne Shrode.

Don served his country in the Navy during the Korean War and retired as a tool and die maker from Eaton Corporation. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, Marcella in the Amish Country and going fishing on Lake Erie.

There will be no visitation or services.
