Donald R. Talbot, 80, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, July 2, 2010 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.
On December 16, 1929 in Fremont, he was born to Charles J. "Jim" and Lela U. (Young) Talbot. He married Doris A. Opperman on February 27, 1951.
Survivors include a daughter, Lin (Jim) Talbot-Koehl of Tiffin; sister, Karen Dodway of Clyde; 6 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and a Foster Daughter, Dr. Linette Archer of PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Doris of 59 years on April 7, 2010; and a son, William Talbot in 2005.
Don was of the Lutheran Faith and a 1947 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, worked at National Machinery in the Engineering Dept. for over 25 years and was a Quarter Century Club Member. He enjoyed golf, dart ball, bowling, collecting Fenton Glass, animals and volunteering his time at Tiffin Mercy Hospital. Don was a Foster Parent for many years and family was a large part of his life.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 5, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with National Machinery Quarter Century Club meeting in body at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care.
