Dora Ines Monaco, 88, of Tiffin passed away Sunday evening, July 11, 2010 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky.
On October 23, 1921 in San Giovanni,Cardo Italy, she was born to Carlo and Terasa (Viola) Deblasio. She married Joseph A. Monaco on September 7, 1947.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Wise of Tiffin; sons, Joseph (Marcia) Monaco of Martinsville, NJ; Ralph "Doc" Monaco of Tiffin; Jerry Monaco of Ft. Myers, FL; 5 grandchildren, Jamie, Alyson, Shelby, Angelena, Joe, and a great granddaughter, Alexis.
Mrs. Monaco was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph in 1984; a son Anthony Monaco in 2006' 3 brothers and a sister.
She was a member and very active in New Beginnings Assembly of God in Tiffin. Dora grew up in Italy where she was a professional seamstress at 16 years old and worked in her father's grocery store and bakery. In 1947, after the war, she moved to Pennsylvania and to Tiffin in 1949. She ran Monaco's Bakery out of her home and Westgate Shopping Center. Kroger's Grocery Store used Monaco's Bakery products in their stores for many years. Dora was dedicated to her faith, family and hard work.
A funeral service will be Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at New Beginnings Assembly of God with Rev. Rex King officiating. Burial will follow next to her husband and son in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friend may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10-11 AM at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Beginnings Assembly of God or to Stein Hospice.
