Doris A. Hoerig, 75, of Fremont, passed away Saturday evening December 18, 2010, at her home.

She was born February 2, 1935, in Tiffin, to Ray D. and Lela M. (McConnell) Neikirk. She married Donald Lantz and he preceded her in death. She married Eugene J. Hoerig in Republic, on November 7, 1970, and he preceded her in death on July 15, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Bonnie) Lantz of Mt. Gilead; Douglas (Michaele) Lantz of Tiffin; and a daughter Susan (Gary) LeMaitre of Fremont; three sisters, Sandy (David) Bowerman of Republic; Nancy (Fred) Bowers and Ruth Ann (Ron) Carnahan, both of Tiffin; a step-son, Charles Hoerig of NC.; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and her best buddy, Bailey, her poodle.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and both husbands; is a sister, Laura C. Powell.

Doris attended Grace Community Church in Fremont. She worked as a welder at General Electric for 14 years and was a direct caretaker at Tiffin Developmental Center for 11 years, retiring in 1997. She enjoyed going to the lake and fishing, gardening, woodworking, bird watching, playing piano and volleyball. She was a great oil painter, painting saws and Christmas balls.

Her Funeral will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. Burial will follow in Block Cemetery, Republic.

Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home and Crematory.
