Doris A. Talbot, 80, of Tiffin, passed away Wednesday morning, April 7, 2010, at her home.
On February 11, 1930, she was born in Hancock County to Roy and Iva (Dotson) Opperman. On February 27, 1951, she married Donald R. Talbot.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Don; a daughter, Lin (Jim) Talbot-Koehl, of Tiffin; a foster daughter, Dr. Linette Archer of PA; a brother, Danny (Dorothy) Opperman of Fostoria; three sisters, Colleen Sheaffer of Findlay; Betty LaPyrne of Bay City, MI; and Barbara (Joe) Walker-Woods of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her parents is a son, William Talbot in 2005; two brothers, Larry and Jim Opperman; and a sister, Alice Dishong.
Doris was a graduate of Fostoria High School. She was a clothing department manager at Mr. Wigg's, then Heck's until they closed. She was a pencil and charcoal artist her entire life and a member of Fenton Art Glass Collector's Club. She loved animals and was known for taking in strays. She was a foster parent and family was a large part of her life.
Her Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, April 12, 2010, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, April 23, 2010, in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice Care.
