Obituary

Dorothy Rose Clouse, 91, of New Riegel and briefly the Good Shepherd Home, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 30, 2014.

She was born on March 7, 1923, in Wyandot County, to the late Frank and Clara (Reinhart) Lucius. On June 5, 1943, she married Firmin C. Clouse in Bascom and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1990.

Survivors include 3 sons, Robert "Bob" (Janie) Clouse and Ronald "Smoke" (Vicky) Clouse, both of Tiffin and Raymond "Ray" (Diane) Clouse of New Riegel; 3 daughters, Darlene (Justin) Elchert, of New Riegel, Denise (John) Snyder of Carey and Donna (Ron) Gosche of Fostoria; daughter-in-law, Gladys Clouse Shumway of Tiffin; 3 brothers, Louis (Milly) Lucius and Francis (Susie) Lucius, both of New Riegel and Paul (Charlotte) Lucius of Burgoon; 3 sisters, Eileen (Ron) Kurtz of Attica, Margie (Bob) Sowers of Sycamore and Alma (Marion) Lucius of Tiffin; sister-in-law, Flo Lucius of Tiffin; 26 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death are her son, Richard L. "Dick" Clouse, Sr., in 1993; 2 brothers, Bernard and Jerry Lucius; and sister, Lucille (Ralph) Smith.

Dorothy was a homemaker, was a member of All Saints Parish, All Saints Rosary Altar Society and was a member of Ministery of Praise. She was also a member of the New Riegel American Legion Auxiliary Post 354, a past volunteer for the American Red Cross for 16 years and she received the "Volunteer of the Year" award from the Rosary Altar Society in 2001. The love for her family and her genealogy expertise will never be forgotten. She loved family reunions, gardening and watching God's little creatures. Everyone enjoyed her famous, award winning oatmeal cookies, cakes and hearing her childhood stories and memories.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Timothy Kummerer and Rev. Phillip Smith con-celebrating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, New Riegel.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 8:00 P.M.
