Dorothy J. Fowler, 83, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2010, in the emergency room at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

She was born August 23, 1927, in Tiffin, to Adolph R. and Florence M. (Sandys) Gilliland. She married Charles W. 'Chick' Fowler on February 14, 1948.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Dennis Kelbley and their children, Melissa and Jessica Kelbley all of Fostoria; son, Mark Fowler of Tiffin; a sister, Mildred Gilliland of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Chick, on July 10, 2010, are a brother, Paul R. Gilliland and a sister, Frieda Martin.

Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of West Technical High School in Cleveland. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Mother's Circle, Trinity Twosomes and Keenagers. She loved and enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, playing cards and visiting friends. Over the years, she worked at Sterling Grinding Wheel, Tiffin Auto Club, and Tiffin Bake Shop, where she retired. She was also co-owner of Chick's Carry out and Burner's Food Market.

Her Funeral Service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, December 20, 2010, at Trinity United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
