Dorothy M. Gottfried, 99, of Tiffin and Upper Sandusky, passed away Friday afternoon, January 14, 2011 at Elmwood at the Shawhan.

On May 22, 1911 in Crawford Twp., Wyandot County, she was born to Harrison B. and Lottie (Courtad) Feeley. She married Dale E. Gottfried on June 10, 1935 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Dave and Pat Gottfried of Willard and Tiffin; 2 grandsons, Eric "Rick" and Cathy Gottfried and Scott and Kristine Gottfried both of Tiffin; 5 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a sister, Jane Frank of Upper Sandusky; nephew, Jason Traxler, 3 nieces, Carol Lee, Connie Frank, and Brenda Jones. She was the matriarch of a five generation family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dale, on October 6, 1993; and a sister Mildred Failor.

Mrs. Gottfried was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky, was Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Warpole Chapter 366, and the Upper Sandusky Mother's Club. She had worked at Commercial Savings Bank in Upper Sandusky and Harpster Fairhaven Home, and the Wyandot County Treasurer's Office. She was a talented and gifted China painter for many years.

A funeral service will be Wednesday, January 19 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Church of Christ, 300 N. Sandusky St., Upper Sandusky; with Rev. Bradley J. McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 18 from 4-6 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory and on Wednesday, January 19, from 10 - 11 AM at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin or Upper Sandusky, Community Hospice Care or to a charity of the donor's choice
