Obituary

Dorothy Wilkins Kuebler passed away peacefully on September 7, 2011, six months shy of her 100th birthday. She was born in Danbury, Ohio, on February 21, 1912, the second of four children, to Margaret Hansen Wilkins and Christian Wilkins. She was delivered by her father during a blizzard when the doctor was unable to get there. Dorothy was cold her entire life after being born in that storm.

Dorothy graduated from Danbury Township High School in 1930. She graduated from Tiffin University in 1933, where she received silver 110 and gold 120 words per minute pins for typing speed. She worked at Miami University and the O & M Seed Company prior to marrying Elmer Kuebler on October 11, 1943. Dorothy worked at Heidelberg College, now University, from 1950 until her retirement in 1977. She and her husband were one of the five founding couples of the Cotillion Club in Tiffin, in 1952.

Dorothy moved to Houston, Texas in 1999 to be near her family and lived independently at The Terrace at Willowbrook. In 2010 she moved to Ainsley Courte Assisted Living. She loved all the Houston sports teams and watched them avidly on television. She worked the daily crossword puzzles for years.

Dorothy's husband and her brothers and sister predeceased her. She is survived by her daughter Margaret (Peggy) Kuebler Field and husband John Blair Field; grandchildren: John Blair Field, Jr. and wife Kathy Davis Field, James Alexander Field and wife Sabrina Lahiri, and Karen Field Steger and husband Michael Todd Steger; great-grandchildren: Madeleine Blair Field, Adam Davis Field, and Laurel Elizabeth Steger, as well as nieces and nephews.
