Dorothy "Dottie" L. Tyree, 80, of Tiffin, went to meet her lord peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday afternoon, April 12, 2014 at her home.

She was born in Pensacola, Florida on October 18, 1933 to an Albert and Eula Mae Carnley. On November 28, 1974, she married Rufus Tyree and he survives.

Survivors include her husband; 4 children, Linda (Mike) Tippin, Randie (Debbie) Sterling, Robin (Gary) Barnes all of Tiffin, Rick (Nina) Sterling of Raleigh, NC; 3 step-children, Kaye Wise, Kelley (Gene) Robison both of Tiffin, Kim (Jim) O'Dell of Norfolk, VA; sister, Alberta Hopkins of FL; brother, Ray Carnley of AZ; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 5 brothers; 3 sisters; son-in-law, Jack Wise.

Dorothy was a member of Christ Church at Tiffin and worked at Heidelberg College in the Castle were she was loved by many of the students. She volunteered at Autumnwood Care Center singing and playing the guitar for the residents and staff. Music was her passion from an early age singing in her church, with her family and karaoke. Dottie loved getting together with family and will be missed by all.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Terry Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
