Dorothy J. Lake, 87, of Tiffin, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 21, 2015 at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.

She was born on August 10, 1927, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Henry J. and Amelia (Klingshirn) Straub, Sr. On August 24, 1946, in Fremont, Ohio, she married William A. "Bill" Lake and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2013.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Charlene (Timothy) Wilson of Republic, Mary (Dennis) Kerlin of Tiffin, Vivian (J.W.) Davenport of Crossville, TN; 1 brother, Lloyd F. Straub, of Tiffin; 2 sisters, Rosemary Huff of Fostoria and Bernice Payne of Upper Sandusky; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, James Lake; daughter, Violet Lake; granddaughter, Carrie Lake; 9 brothers, Charles, Robert, Henry, Donald, Albert, Clarence, Paul, Bill and John; 4 sisters, Florence Creager, Marie Kizer, Helen Brandal and Margaret Straub.

Dorothy worked at the Skating Rink in Tiffin for over 20 years and was past president of the V.F.W. Post #2858 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, playing Bingo, crossword puzzles books and loved all the activities at Autumnwood Care Center.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Dr. Jan Kucera officiating. Entombment will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit with the family from 1-4:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 25, 2015 and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center Activity Fund, V.F.W. Post #2858 Ladies Auxiliary or Community Hospice Care.
