Dorothy M. Morter, 89, of Melmore passed away on Thursday afternoon, January 8, 2015 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.

She was born on February 23, 1925, in Tiffin, Ohio, to James and Lillian (Reiter) Hilborn. On August 5, 1945, she married Teddy R. Morter and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1999.

Survivors include 2 brothers, James W. Hilborn of Frankfort, KY and John Hilborn of Akron; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Randall and Carolyn Gittinger and family.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Dorothy graduated in 1943 from Tiffin Columbian High School and was a past member of the Tiffin Women Moose #846 Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles #402 Auxiliary and the Seneca County Grange. She enjoyed talking on the phone and going to the Tiffin Bake Shop.

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424 with Rev. Hannah Tucker officiating.

Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 Noon until the time of Service on Sunday at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Rock Creek Cemetery, TR 165, Tiffin, Ohio 44883.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Community Hospice Care or Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
