Dorothy Elaine Roush, 62, of Tiffin, died Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2011. She was born in Fostoria on July 16, 1948, to Joseph Lloyd and Florence (Lyon) Clary.
She married Dennis N. Roush on April 4, 1969, at Tiffin's First Christian Church and he survives her.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Myron Lloyd Clary.
Survivors include a son Carl (Heather Bean) Roush; a daughter Denise Roush; a granddaughter Taylor Renee Roush; a sister Helen (Frank) Remes of Crown Point, Indiana, and a brother Dwight (Lisa) Clary of rural Kansas, Ohio. She has numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Dorothy graduated from Lakota High School in 1966 and Bowling Green State University in 1969. She taught English in Maryland, the Tiffin Public school system, and most recently at Hopewell-Loudon Local Schools. She, also, did some adjunct teaching at Tiffin University and part-time teaching in the Sentinel GED program.
She was active in the American Association of University Women and First Christian Church.
Dorothy's memorial ceremony will be 11:00 am, Saturday, March 5, 2011at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, 2016 S. County Road 19, Tiffin, with Pastor Doug DeVos officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, March 4, 2011 from 4-8 pm at the Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 South Washington Street, Tiffin, 419-447-2424 and from 10-11 am at the church on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Community Hospice Care or a scholarship for future educators, which is established as the Dorothy Roush Scholarship - Hopewell-Loudon School.
