Earle Collins Shade, 80, of Tiffin, died Wednesday evening, Christmas Eve, December 24, 2008, at St. Francis Home.
He was born September 15, 1928, in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, to Earle Collins and Florence (Hamrick) Shade Sr. December 24, 1945, he married Barbara Springstead, they later divorced and she preceded him in death in 2004. He married Mary Dachcoff and she preceded him in death May 2005.
Survivors include two sons, Gary S. (Jackie) Shade of Youngstown, Forrest J. (Cathy) Shade of Sandusky, three daughters, Linda D. Lonsbury of Tiffin, Donna M. (Joe) Washek of Lancaster, Anita L. Rodriguez of Sandusky, two step-daughters, Donna Hatch of Virginia, Angie Arvanitis of Toledo, two half-brothers, Monte Shade of Alaska, Kent Shade of Altoona, Pennsylvania, a half sister, Leilani McNulty of Texas, 14 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife, is a brother, Richard E. Shade.
Earle proudly served in the US Army from 1946-1947 and attended Washington Street United Methodist Church. He was an electrician out of Toledo and Sandusky Union Hall for over 45 years.
There is no visitation; however a Memorial Service will be 1:30 PM, Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Washington Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Nathan Howe officiating. At Earle's request, his body was donated to science. Burial will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis Home, Washington St. United Methodist Church or SCAT.
