Edith Tyree, 94, of Tiffin, passed away Monday afternoon, October 24, 2011 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, Tiffin.
On October 13, 1917, in Crown, Kentucky, she was born to Riley and Artie (Cornett) Frazier. She married Carl J. Tyree on October 22, 1932 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Survivors include sons, Rufus (Dorothy) Tyree and Redgie Tyree all of Tiffin, OH and Roger (Sue) Tyree of Green Springs, OH; daughter, Carline (Roy) Perry of Trenton, OH; sisters, Wilma (Tony) Prohawnik of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and Doris Ann (Billy Paul) Collins of Whitesburg, Kentucky; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Riley "Rob" Tyree; daughter, Norma Jean Lauterbur; sister, Ruby Frazier; brother, J.L. Frazier, and grandson, Loran Hall.
Edith attended Old Regular Baptist Church in Green Springs, OH and was a seamstress and housewife. She enjoyed arts, crafts and quilting.
A funeral service will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419)447-2424, with Rev. David Raulston officiating. Burial will follow in Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Green Springs, OH.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the funeral home from 4-8:00 P.M.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, American Lung Association or F.A.C.T.
