Edward C. 'Ned' Ekleberry, 84, of Tiffin, died Thursday afternoon, August 13, 2009, at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
March 3, 1925, he was born in Tiffin to Noble and Irene (Grumisch) Ekleberry. February 8, 1947 he married Marjorie A. Altman.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marjorie, two brothers, Bob Ekleberry of Bloomville and Bill Ekelberry of Belding, MI, two sisters, Colleen Weasner and Marjorie (Paul) Blaser, both of Bloomville, many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death along with his parents is a sister, Joan Ekleberry.
Ned was a member of First Christian Church and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII from 1943-1946. He worked at Clyde Whirlpool for over 30 years. He enjoyed driving around, working in his yard, watching the birds and squirrels and going to his favorite places, Burger King and Frisch's. He was a member of The Bloomville American Legion and Green Springs VFW and was a WWII and Korean history buff.
Graveside services and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Christian Church or Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
