Edwin L. “Eddie” Loesser, Jr., 63, of Republic, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at St. Francis Home.
He was born on September 27, 1962, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Edwin L., Sr. and Rita L. Loesser.
Survivors include his brother, Richard L. Loesser of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Peg Loesser of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Loesser of Tiffin, Ann (Rian) Myers of Republic and Rachel (Scott) Gregory of Alvada; and 10 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Eddie was a 1980 graduate of Columbian High School. He worked as a lineman for cable tv contractors and River City Electric in VA, was a paper carrier and worked in the mail room at the Advertiser-Tribune, and in maintenance at St. Joseph Elementary School and Church. He was a large fan of Nascar, attending many races and rooting for his favorite drivers, Bill Elliott and Tony Stewart. Eddie loved to go fishing at the Sandusky River and off the East Coast of Virginia or he could be found working on his Model RR-The Tippin Valley Railroad. In the summer months, Eddie would be working in his vegetable garden. Most recently and currently, he was a beloved custodian at Calvert Catholic Schools St. Joseph Campus.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Anthony Coci officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 30 minutes prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 5-7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools St. Joseph Campus.
