Elizabeth Clare Brodman, 86, of Tiffin, passed away Friday morning, February 26, 2010, at Friedman Village.
On July 23, 1923, she was born in Tiffin to Frank and Rose (Reinbolt) Fabian. On June 19, 1948, she married Leonard W. Brodman in St. Mary Catholic Church.
Survivors include five sons, Frank (Laura) Brodman of Republic, Phillip (Heidi) Brodman, Tom (Nancy) Brodman, both of Tiffin, Mike Brodman of Republic, Richard (Cindy) Brodman of Tiffin, eight daughters, Gwen Achen of Aberdeen, SD, Fran (Steve) Genet of Tiffin, Linda (Greg) Valko, Janet (Dave) Fisher, both of Bellevue, Patti (Todd) Wigton of Amherst, Susan (Matt) Scholl of Tiffin, Barbara (Leon) Weinandy of Alvada, Ellen (Steve) Nedlik of Mentor, 45 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death along with her parents and husband, Leonard on August 2, 1981, is a son, Stephen Brodman on June 26, 1980, an infant brother, Frank Fabian, a sister, Marguerite Sinko and a grandson, Paul Valko.
Elizabeth graduated from Calvert High School in 1941 and Heidelberg College in 1945 with a Bachelors degree in music. She taught music for several years at Bettsville and New Riegel Schools. She was a member of Tiffin Elks Lodge #94 and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Her family was her life and she attended all the recitals and sporting events that she could for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the piano, music and was a great coffee cake baker.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30 AM, Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at, St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family 2-8 PM, Monday, March 1, 2010 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424, or 10-11 AM, Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to Stephen Brodman Scholarship Fund c/o Tiffin Charitable Trust, Calvert Catholic Schools or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
