Elizabeth C. "Liz" Merryfield, 79, of Dade City, Florida and formerly of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday morning, May 21, 2013 at HPH Hospice in Dade City.

She was born on July 16, 1933, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Arnold J. and May V. (Hoffman) Young. On December 8, 1951 in Angola Indiana, she married Donald J. Merryfield and he preceded her in death on January 30, 1990.

Survivors include son, Donald (Barbara Jean) Merryfield of Republic; daughter, Mary (George) Kimmet of Zephyrhills, Florida; 4 brothers, James (Zella) Young of Pinellas Park, FL, Gene Young of Columbia, SC, Frank (Kathy) Young of Tiffin, and Daniel (Elaine) Young of Willard; sister, Evelyn (Norman) Gannon of Zephyrhills, FL; 3 grandchildren, Melinda Louise (Mike) Watkins, Aaron Merryfield and Gregory Merryfield; 5 step-grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, Maxwell; and 17 step-great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were her parents.

Liz graduated in 1951 from Tiffin Columbian High School and worked for Betty White Cleaning Service and U.S. Bank. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; Tiffin Moose Lodge #846 and Tiffin Eagles #402. Liz enjoyed walking, reading, sewing and listening to music.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to Mass.

Friends may visit with the family from 3-7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington Street, Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:00 P.M.
