Elizabeth "Betty" Miles, 62, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, October 27, 2008 at Spartanburg Hospital.

Born in Tiffin, May 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Kirian) Steinmetz. She was formerly employed at Webster Mfg. as an Executive Secretary. Betty was also employed at Converse College and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband, Max "Pete" Miles; two daughters, Jenni (Rodney) Clinger of Sycamore and Jacki (Bryan) Roper of Pickens, SC; three brothers, Bill (Kim) Steinmetz of Bettsville, Jerry (Angie) Steinmetz of Tiffin and Dick (Andrea) Steinmetz of Arizona; three sisters, Joyce Cascaden of Arizona, Donna Steinmetz of Youngstown and Pat Hall of Tiffin; Five grandchildren, Christopher and Alec Clinger, Jeffrey, Zachary and Dylan "DJ" Roper; one great grandchild, Myles Roper and a special friend, Diane Wheeler.

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Myles Roper and a brother in law, Jack Cascaden.

Visitation will be Friday, October 31, 2008 from 6-8 PM at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Sandridge Cemetery in Bascom.
