Elizabeth L. "Betty" Pachlhofer, 69, of rural Bascom, died, Saturday, January 10, 2009, at her residence.
On September 16, 1939 she was born to Royal J. "Bud" and Ella M. (Schleter) Hoover in Tiffin. On May 30, 1961 she married Robert F. Pachlhofer at St. Mary in Tiffin.
Survivors include sons, William "Bill" (Deb-Swartz) Pachlhofer of Bloomville, Robb (Stephanie) Pachlhofer of Tiffin, daughters Lisa Schreiner and fiancAC. Steve Freeman of Fostoria, Brenda Gatchell of Findlay, brothers, Dale (Bev) Hoover of Tiffin, Steve (Crystal) Hoover of Dayton, brother-in-law John C. Pachlhofer of Fostoria, sisters Jean Marie Pettaway of Bronx, NY, Kathleen Fitzpatrick of Bettsville, Jane (Steve) Wilson of Tiffin, Margaret (Larry) Spaun of Tiffin, Helen (Richard) King of Tiffin, Barbara (Larry) Aller of Findlay, grandchildren, Bill (Amber), Bob (Kayla), Danielle (Lee), Christopher (Kelly), Lindsey, Travis, Misty (C.J.), Cody, Hunter, Morgyn, Jett, Hadley, Travis, Haley, Katelin, Kole, Avery, Alexis, and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death is her husband of 44 years, Robert F. Pachlhofer, both of her parents, and a brother Donald Hoover in 2008.
Betty was a graduate of Calvert High School, class of 1957. She retired from Ohio Bell as a switch board operator. She worked at Whirlpool in Findlay for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom, where she was involved in the Rosary Altar Society. Betty was also involved in Red Hat Society, Tiffin Moose Lodge #846, Tiffin Eagles Aerie #402, "Lunch Bunch" from school Calvert High School. Most importantly she loved having family reunions and hosting the family reunions at the Pachlhofer's pond. She also loved traveling, camping, and her husband and her were, "snow birds," often traveling to Texas and Florida during the winter months.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10am, Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Rev. Art Niewiadomski officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Following the burial, the family cordially invites everyone to the luncheon, which will be held at the AmVets in Tiffin.
Friends may visit with the family, 2-4 and 6-8, on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St. Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian wake service will be held at 8pm at the funeral home on Tuesday.
