Obituary

Elmer S. Peiffer, 88, of Tiffin, formerly of New Riegel, died Monday afternoon, September 21, 2009, at Mercy Hospital.

He was born December 13, 1920, in New Riegel, to Frank P. and Anna Clara (Lucius) Peiffer.

Survivors include two brothers, Harold Peiffer of Lakewood, and Carl (Dorothy) Peiffer of Findlay, and a sister, Norma (George) Cramer of Tiffin, many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death along with his parents are seven brothers, Eugene, Francis, Wilfred, Leo, Herman, Raymond and Gerald, and a sister, Anna Mae Rumschlag.

Elmer graduated from New Riegel High School, was a member of All Saints Parish, New Riegel. He proudly served in the US Army 1943-1946, during WWII, and was a member of New Riegel American Legion Post 354. He retired from American Standard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at All Saints Parish, New Riegel with Rev. Randy Giesige officiating. A Rosary will be prayed 15 minutes prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery with Military Graveside services conducted by the New Riegel American Legion Post 354.

Friends may visit with the family 2-4 and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH, 44883, 419-447-2424. A Christian wake service will be 8:00 PM. American Legion Post 354 services will be 6:00 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
