Eloise "Ellie" J. Keiffer, 80, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, August 29, 2015 at St. Francis Home in Tiffin after a very courageous ten year battle with cancer. Her cheery and positive attitude throughout her treatment was an inspiration to everyone she knew.

She was born on December 9, 1934, in Bloomville, Ohio, to Roman and Dorothy (Kenney) Falter. On September 15, 1956, she married Herman J. Keiffer and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2007.

She is survived by seven nieces and nephews, Bonnie (Rob) Jackson of Whitehouse, Janet (Paul) Gilson of Indiana, Charles Falter and Donald Falter, both of Tiffin, Robert Dehring of Findlay, Mark Dehring of Republic, Diane (Jack) Miles of Jenera; and sister-in-law, Marie Keiffer of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Falter; sister-in-law, Carol Falter; and niece, Susan Tyson.

Ellie graduated in 1952 from Tiffin Calvert High School and retired in 1983 as a telephone operator from Ohio Bell. After retiring from Ohio Bell, she worked at H & R Block for many years. Ellie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society, Telephone Pioneers of America, Tiffin Women of the Moose #846, V.F.W. Auxiliary #2858 and the Tiffin Eagles Auxiliary #402, where she was past president and secretary.

Ellie's family would like to thank her special "angels" for their loving and compassionate care. Dr. Renu Soni and her staff, the staff of St. Francis Home; especially those from 2 West and the caregivers of Bridge Hospice.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Gary Walters officiating.
