Elsie E. Strausbaugh, 93, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at St. Francis Home in Tiffin.
On May 31, 1917, she was born in Amsden, to Albert J. and Mary A. (Massie) Radcliff. On Jun 25, 1935, she married George W. Strausbaugh in Auburn, IN.
Survivors include a son, Dean (Cheryl) Strausbaugh of Tiffin; daughters, Brenda (Thomas) Hollensen-Henderson of Marblehead, OH; and Beth (Thomas) Everett of Curtice, OH; 13 grandchildren, Angie, Jenny, Dusty, Megan, Scott, Tammy, Christopher, Jonathan, Amy, Tom, Dawn, Brian, Brad; 26 great grandchildren, and son in law, William (Beverly) Roby.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, George, on January 14, 1993; daughter; Marcia Roby, an infant son; brothers, Dale, Don, William, and Max Radcliff; sisters, Bernice Faris and Marguerite Miller, and 2 great grandchildren.
Elsie graduated from Amsden High School. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she was very involved in the Women's Organization, Faithful Followers, Worship Committee, vacation bible school, Sunday school teacher for the nursery class and recording secretary for many years. She was a homemaker and worked at the Seneca County Department of Job and Family Services for 10 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Y-Wives, and a talented seamstress. Elsie will be remembered as an avid card sender, to cheer people up.
Her funeral service will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:30 am at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with her son in law, Pastor Tom Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 9:00-10:30 am at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, St. Francis Home in Tiffin, or Stein Hospice.
