Elva L. Aller, 98, of Tiffin, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Birchaven Village in Findlay.
She was born on September 15, 1921, in McCutchenville, Ohio, to George and Zellah (Bare) Houpt. On August 2, 1943, in Liberal, KS, she married William J. "Mickey" Aller and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1999.
Survivors include her sons, James F. (DiAnna) Aller of Tiffin and Gary L. Aller of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Norma Mae Wilkinson of Tiffin; three grandchildren, John (Joan) Aller and Shellie (Robb) Mack, both of Tiffin and Janell Schwab of Mesa, AZ; great grandson, Nathaniel Dull of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Ellen Herbert and a brother in law, Cal Wilkinson.
Elva graduated in 1940 from McCutchenville High School, worked at Cook's Food Center for years, Club 224, and retired from Webster Mfg., after many years. She was a devoted and active member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she also volunteered and helped on the luncheon committee. She was past president and secretary of Altrusa Club for many years and enjoyed going on cruises, dancing to Big Band music with her husband. Elva was a Christian, a proud woman living on her own until a few weeks ago. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and caregiver to many.
Her Funeral Service will be at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ with Rev. Doug DeVos officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens. A luncheon will follow at church.
Friends may visit with the family from 10-11:30 A.M. at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Disciples of Christ or to the Humane Society of Seneca County.
