Ernest "Ernie" C. Stotler, 81 of Alvada, passed away Sunday morning, June 6, 2010 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center.
On February 8, 1929 in Buffalo, WV, he was born to Jim and Ida Mae (Gore) Stotler. He married Martha Wray and they later divorced. He married Cora Jane Chalfin in July 1969.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Ernestine "Tina" (Duane) Oren of Deshler; Linda (Bill) Salyers of Fostoria; Diana (Marvin) Hoepf of New Riegel; step son, Ken (Linda) Bowers of Tiffin; sisters, Bertha Martin of Galion; Mary (Luther) Blythe of Gallipolis; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cora in 2009, infant son, Clayton Junior Stotler and a sister, Ruth Wolfe.
Ernie attended Beech Grove Wesleyan Church in Carey and retired from Roppe Rubber Corp. on September 5, 1980 as a Millwright. He enjoyed gardening, birds, tinkering around the house and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:00 am at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home with Pastor Samuel Suman officiating. Burial will follow in Seneca Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 from 4-8 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Volunteers of America Autumnwood Care Center, American Heart Association or Heartland Hospice.
