Esther V. Blackburn, 95, of Tiffin, passed away Monday morning, August 15, 2011 at Volunteers of America Autumnwood Nursing Home.

She was born July 22, 1916 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Grover & Minnie (Wolfe) Merrill. She married Eugene M. Blackburn on June 22, 1951.

Survivors include her daughters; Sara V. (Robert) Webb of Tiffin, OH and Margaret J. Blackburn of Findlay, OH; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Eugene; brother, William L. Merrill and sister, Arizona Fawley.

Esther retired in 1970 from U.S. Glass Co. after 27 years. She then moved to Largo, Florida where she worked at Morrison's Cafeteria and returned to Tiffin in 1993.

Her funeral will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, Ohio 44883, (419)447-2424. Burial will follow in Bethel South Bend Cemetery in McCutchenville, OH.

Friends may visit with the family from 12-1 P.M. on Thursday, August 18, 2011.
